- Log in to www.scisdata.com.
- Navigate to Download – Collections.
- On the left you will see the categories of digital collections curated by SCIS.
- Click on a category, for example, e-Books (free).
- Select the collection of interest and click Download.
- A list of the records in the list appears with a request number.
- Depending on the collection you many need to evaluate the titles’ suitability for your clientele. Clicking on the SCIS number opens the SCIS record. Clicking on the title opens the digital resources.
- Select resources to be removed from the download list by ticking the square box(es).
- Click Remove selected # records for any resources not relevant to your school community.
- When you are happy with the records in the list to be added to your catalogue, click Download records.
- The catalogue records will be downloaded and saved to your computer into the downloads folder
- Open the downloads folder and locate the file with the extension ‘.mrc’. This could be in a zip file or a standalone file. The name of the .mrc file will be the request number created at step 6. Do not try to open the .mrc file, it is a ‘machine readable cataloguing’ file which can only be read by your library system.
- Go to your LMS and use the file import process to import the .mrc file into your LMS (contact you LMS vendor for further assistance with this step).
