Local depot
This depot should be set to your nearest SCIS cataloguing agency. This is where you send resources for cataloguing once you have made an online request and selected that you will be sending the resources to SCIS. You can also find the email address to contact your local cataloguer here.
ISBN duplicates
Some publishers have used the same ISBN for subsequent editions of a book, or for completely different titles. This results in the same ISBN being used in more than one SCIS record. You can choose how you wish to treat ISBN duplicates:
Prompt me to choose from a list
This is the default preference. With this option, all available records with that ISBN(s) will be shown as matched records. You will then be prompted to remove the matched records that do not match your resource, leaving you with the correct record for your resource.
Most recent record only
If your order contains ISBN/s that match more than one SCIS record, your data file will contain the record added most recently to the SCIS database. If the incorrect record is supplied, you can search for the ISBN using the Search function, rather than Quick scan to download your record.
Check for unmatched records
Unmatched orders can be automatically checked against the SCIS database for up to eight weeks from when you placed your order. Your unmatched orders are checked daily. When record(s) are available for download, you will receive an email notification to your primary contact email address. If you choose ‘don’t check’ you will not receive notifications from SCIS when an item you have attempted to download is catalogued.
